The Dance Oasis is the culmination of a lifetime of dedication to Egyptian dance by Denise and Ahmed Enan. Both former principle dancers with the Firqa Kawmiyya (National Folkloric Troupe of Egypt), they trained the second generation of Kawmiyya dancers and won awards and acclaim for their performances and choreographies. Many of the instructors who today are considered masters began as students of Denise and Ahmed.
Denise and Ahmed have danced for many celebrities around the world including presidents, emperors, and kings. Denise has also performed in many international festivals and taught workshops the world over.
After 14 years of dancing with the National Folkloric Troupe, Denise and Ahmed immigrated to Canada and immediately began passing on their knowledge and experience of dance and choreography by teaching classes and seminars across Canada.
In addition to regular classes with internationally renowned master instructor Denise Enan, and private coaching sessions with award-winning choreographer Ahmed Enan, the Dance Oasis features the Outaouais region's very best instructors of Oriental dance: Jalilah, Marie-Eve, Christine, Ginette, Johanne, Jocelyne, and other guest teachers. The studio also hosts intensive workshops every spring and fall with special guest instructors
The studio offers over 30 regular classes per week, plus mini-workshops on a variety of topics guaranteed to enhance your dance. The Oasis also offers a popular "Hawanem Night" (ladies only) or "Layali Oasis" (ladies and gents) one Saturday each month, where people can enjoy free dancing and surprise performances.
